Mariners roll with 40-13 win into 1st

RESULTS of Thursday night high school football games for teams in the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Stanton-Westminster area.

Pacifica High’s football team rolled into the Empire League lead Thursday night when it rolled past Crean Lutheran 40-13 at Monsoor Stadium on the Garden Grove High campus.

The Mariners (4-3 overall and 2-0 in the Empire League) got outstanding performances from their quarterback and running backs. Sean Blake completed 14 of 18 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground Rai Sagastume rushed for 197 yards and two scores while Isaiah Blevins added 124 yards and two more touchdowns.

Pacifica is next in action Oct. 11, visiting Tustin. Crean (4-3, 0-2) will host Cypress on Oct. 12 at Portola High.
