Why am I running:
As a four-decade resident, I want to insure that Huntington Beach is a thriving beach community for citizens today and in the future. I am not using this as a platform to move onto higher aspirations, but as opportunity to serve the city I love. That is why my vision is: “Putting the Town Back in Surf City.”
The Major Issues:
Cities all around the county are facing the same problems. There are issues with the homeless, budgets, high density development, safety, jet noise, and the environment. As a business leader and Teacher, I have the unique perspective and qualifications of working with groups that build consensus to solve problems. No one person can solve them, as it takes the whole town. Example, if the county were to adopt the United To End Homeless Program, under AB488, this bill would take the chronic homeless off the streets and get them into shelters. Thus saving the county and cities millions of dollars, while also helping the homeless. This is an great example of working together as a Team, and as a Town. But I want to go further. We can manage through those problems with good governance, I want to look to the future to transform Huntington Beach where we engage the youth, bring in new technology, and provide unparalleled Safety to our citizens. Then, and only then, are we “Putting the Town Back Into Surf City.”
