Another loss in overtime wins a point

THE ANAHEIM DUCKS lost 2-1 in overtime Friday night to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Well, at least it was a point.

The Anaheim Ducks lost 2-1 in overtime Friday night to the Toronto Maple Leafs at Honda Center.

The good news is that the home team did pick up a point in the standings, leaving them in sole possession of fourth place in the NHL Pacific Division with an 8-9-4 mark and 20 points.

The not-quite-as good news is that it was the Ducks’ second overtime loss in the row, and the Anaheim team has won just three of its last 10 games.

Pontus Aberg scored the sole goal for the Ducks. He is the team’s leader in that category with six. John Gibson had 33 saves in goal for Anaheim.

Next up for the Ducks is a game Sunday hosting the Colorado Avalanche (9-6-4) at the Honda Center.
