Chargers roll on into tourney final

EDISON HIGH’S boys’ basketball team rolled into the finals of the Rancho Mirage tournament with a big win on Friday.

Kaden Headington and Auden Garnett combined for 31 points as Edison High’s boys’ basketball team defeated Mesa High of Murrietta 61-33 Friday in the Rancho Mirage Holiday Invitational Tournament.

The Chargers (14-5) got 16 points from Headington and 15 from Garnett in the victory. EHS built a 20-4 first quarter lead and never looked back. The Green and Gold will play Palos Verdes today (Saturday) for the tournament title.

In another outstanding performance, Joshua Lee scored 18 points and had six assists for Westminster High as the Lions were edged 51-49 by Yorba Linda.
