A 20-year-old Garden Grove man was arrested this week in connection with the Dec. 19, 2018 attempted robbery of a Santa Ana bank.
The suspect was identified by the Santa Ana Police Department as Samuel Hunter McClintock for allegedly trying to hold up a Wells Fargo branch at 3764 West McFadden Ave.
According to police, the suspect entered the bank at about 2:45 p.m., walked to a teller window and allegedly passed a note demanding money. The teller activated the alarm and the suspect left the bank.
The suspect then entered a teal-colored Jeep Wrangler driven by another person and left the scene.
Acting on a tip, police arrested McClintock on Monday at his place of work and booked him into Orange County Jail in Santa Ana on a charge of attempted bank robbery. The second suspect is being sought and it described as a white male, 40 to 50 years old.
Anyone with information about the second suspect – the driver – is asked to call Det. David Prewett at (714) 245-8323 or e-mail him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
