79 new homes go before planners

SEVENTY-NINE new homes are proposed to be built in Garden Grove, and those proposals will go before the Garden Grove Planning Commission on Feb. 7.

Seventy-nine new housing units are on the agenda for next Thursday’s meeting of the Garden Grove Planning Commission.

David Nguyen is asking the planners for approval of a site plan and lot line adjustment to build a 46-unit apartment complex on the south side of Garden Grove Boulevard, west of Coast Street at 8218 and 8242 Garden Grove Blvd.

Melia Homes, Inc. is proposing developing a 1.8-acre lot at 9861 11th St. (between Kerry and Brookhurst streets) with 31 two- and three-story townhomes.

Also on the planners’ agenda are:

  • a site plan to demolish an existing 800-square foot medical office building and a detached 400-square foot two-car garage at 10152 Westminster Ave. and replace them with a new 3,000-square foot two- story building;
  • construction of a new two-story duplex at 10052 Central Ave. between Brookhurst Street and Flower Street;
  • a conditional use permit to operate a new television studio within an existing building at 10531-10561 Garden Grove Blvd.

The planners will meet on Feb. 7 in the council chambers in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave. at 7 p.m.
