A 68-year-old Huntington Beach man died Wednesday morning from injuries he sustained in a traffic accident on Jan. 31.
According to HBPD Motor Sgt. Eric Warken, the man – who was not identified – had been injured in a crash in the area of Brookhurst Street and Atlanta Avenue.
His 2004 Toyota Tundra truck had collided with a 2003 Cadillac Escalade sport utility vehicle driven by a 55-year-old Huntington Beach man. The driver of the Cadillac sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by Huntington Beach Fire Department paramedics.
But the other motorist suffered major injuries and was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange where he succumbed at about 11:48 a.m. “It is believed he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision,” according to Sgt. Warken.
