Two major celebrities are now entangled in separate legal troubles involving alleged sexual misconduct.
Police in Jupiter, Florida on Friday said that Robert Kraft, owner of the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, faces charges of soliciting a prostitute.
Kraft, 77, was not arrested, but authorities say a warrant will be issued on a misdemeanor charge stemming from him being twice videotaped being involved in a sex act at a massage parlor. Kraft denied any wrongdoing, according to the Associated Press.
Also on Friday, singer R. Kelly, indicted on 10 charges of aggravated sexual assault – including on three minor girls – announced through his attorney that he would be turning himself over to Chicago authorities this evening.
His attorney termed the charges “baseless.” If convicted on all counts, Kelly could be sentenced to 70 or more years in prison. The 52-year-old rhythm and blues vocalist was acquitted in 2008 of a child pornography charge.
