A 43-year-old Long Beach man who was a science teacher at Ocean View High School in Huntington Beach was sentenced Friday to two years in state prison for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old boy in 2017.
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney, the youth was not a student at OVHS. The assaults took place in July and August 2017 at the home of the defendant Andrew Bueno-Potts, a resident of Long Beach. He was arrested by Long Beach police.
The victim lived at the defendant’s home during that time, according to the D.A.’s office.
Bueno-Potts pleaded no contest earlier this month to one count of sodomy of a person under the age of 18. He will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, and was ordered to stay away from the victim for 10 years.
