Gavin Kennedy threw a no-hitter Friday as Ocean View defeated Western 4-0 in a Golden West League game at the Pioneer diamond.

Kennedy walked two batters over seven innings as the Seahawks improved their record to 6-0 in league play and 12-7 overall.

In another GWL contest, Garden Grove High squared its conference record at 3-3 with a 6-3 win over Godinez. It was the Argonauts third straight win and was aided by Jordan Camino’s two RBIs.

La Quinta blanked Los Amigos 8-0 in a Garden Grove League game, led by Jacob Butt, who not only had three hits and two RBIs, but also pitched seven innings, striking out seven batters and yielding four hits.

The Aztecs are now 5-2 in league and 8-4 overall.

In the Sunset/Surf League, Josh Hahn hit a grand slam home run in the second inning to lead Huntington Beach High to a 7-2 win over Edison High Friday at the Charger field. The Oilers improved to 13-2 overall and 3-0 in league. Edison went to 11-6 and 2-1.
