Mariners stay unbeaten with 14-3 romp

PACIFICA defeated Valencia 14-3 on Tuesday to improve to 6-0-1.

Pacifica High School’s softball team kept its grip on first place in the Empire League with a 14-3 win over Valencia High at the Tigers’ field on Tuesday night.

The Mariners improved to 2-0 in league and 6-0-1 overall. They led 6-3 going into the top of the sixth when they exploded for eight runs.

Jacquelyn Bicker went 4-for-4 with two doubles and five RBIs. Carli Kloss was 4-for-5 with a triple and an RBI.

Valencia fell to 0-3 in EL action and 2-10 overall.

Also on Tuesday, Edison’s softball team blanked Los Alamitos 6-0 on the Charger diamond. Hailie Benko was 2-for-3 with a home run and two  RBIs. EHS improved to 4-3 in the Sunset/Surf League and 15-7 overall.

In baseball action Tuesday, Loara defeated Godinez 1-0 and La Quinta lost 15-0 to Ontario Christian. The Saxons are 9-7 overall and the Aztecs 11-7.
