Enrollment for summer 2019 classes and programs offered by the City of Garden Grove begins next Thursday, April 11, 2019. Parents are encouraged to register participants as early as possible as many classes have limited enrollment space and to secure early-bird benefits. To register visit ggparksandrec.com or the 1st floor Recreation Counter inside Garden Grove City Hall, at 11222 Acacia Parkway.
A variety of affordable summer classes, starting from May through August 2019, are offered to the community. Classes include arts and crafts; dancing and gymnastics; fitness; martial arts; music; pet training; sports; and special interest courses, such as CPR/AED, first aid, and science for adults, infants, and children.
Participants can also register for spring and summer swimming lessons, as well as Garden Grove Day Camp.
Swimming lessons are based on American Red Cross swimming courses designed to develop personal safety, exercise, and social interaction skills.
Spring lessons begin on Monday, May 6, 2019, Monday through Thursday, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Gary Hall Pool, located in Eastgate Park, at 12001 St. Mark Street. Online registration begins on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 through Friday, May 31, 2019. Each lesson is $60 per student.
Summer lessons begin on Monday, June 17, 2019 and are offered at three local pool locations:
- Gary Hall Pool, located in Eastgate Park, at 12001 St. Mark Street
- Magnolia Park Pool, located at 11402 Magnolia Street
- Woodbury Park Pool, located at 13800 Rosita Place
Each lesson is $60 per student or $100 for a private lesson. Registration begins on Thursday, May 2, 2019.
Garden Grove Day Camp provides children, ages 5-12, with a fun and safe 10-week summer program beginning on Monday, June 17, 2019. Camp hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Garden Grove Courtyard Center, located in Village Green park, at 12732 Main St.. Parents who register before Tuesday, April 30, 2019 will receive $5 off the weekly fee of $105 per week.
