It was bunnies, baseball and building

What better way to greet the coming of spring than with a festival with baseball and home improvement? Oh, yes, and there’s the fun of an Easter egg hunt and an appearance by the Big Rabbit himself.

The annual Spring Festival and Community Resource Fair was held on Saturday in the Westminster Civic Center – Westminster Boulevard and All American Way – with a wide variety of seasonal attractions.

In addition to the sweets and pics with the Bunny, guests could enjoy trying their hand with the bat at an inflatable baseball “stadium,” many information booths, face-painting, live entertainment and do-it-yourself home projects sponsored by Home Depot.

This is the first local holiday of its kind for the season. Next Saturday, the City of Stanton will sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt, coupled with a pancake breakfast and resource fair.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Stanton Central Park, 10660 Western Ave. The egg hunts will start at 10 a.m. sharp. There will be visits from the Easter Bunny, a resource fair and the pancake breakfast ($3.50 per person).
