GG planners approve a “new” McD’s

THE NEW LOOK McDonald’s restaurants (McDonalds Corp).

The demolition of the McDonald’s restaurant in the Promenade shopping center and its replacement with a new, modern eatery was approved at the May 2 meeting of the Garden Grove Planning Commissioners.

Planners voted 6-0 – with Christy Le absent – to approve the site plan and conditional use permit to knock down the Seventies-era McD’s at 9845 Chapman Avenue and replace it with a new one on the same site.

The new fast food restaurant will see the existing basement and kids’ play area eliminated and dual-entry drive through lanes created.

At the same meeting the commission approved a measure clearing the way for the sale of the former fire station at 12111 Chapman Ave.
