Monday Briefing is back with a look at what’s happening this coming week for Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Stanton and Westminster.
WEATHER: It’ll be generally pleasant and sunny with highs in the low- to-mid 70s. Some chance of light rain.
Here are projected high and lows for our cities.
- Garden Grove: High of 73 on Wednesday, and a daytime low of 70 on Saturday. Nighttime lows in the mid-50s. Ten percent chance of rain Monday and Thursday.
- Huntington Beach: High of 69 on Friday and a daytime low of 66 on Saturday. Nighttime lows in the mid-50s. Ten percent chance of rain Monday through Saturday.
- Stanton: High of 72 midweek and a daytime low of 69 on Saturday. Nighttime lows in the mid-50s. Ten percent chance of rain on Monday and Thursday.
- Westminster: High of 70 midweek and a daytime low of 68 on Saturday. Night time low of 56 on Tuesday. Ten percent chance of rain Monday through Saturday.
MEETINGS: Garden Grove City Council will meet on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and will discuss these issues: homelessness, a proposal to declare June to be Gay Pride Month, and proposal of the establishment of a policy on the display of flags at city hall.
- Stanton City Council will meet on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and will discuss a tour to examine mixed use zoning, and “dilapidated” shopping centers.
EVENTS: 17th annual Cub Scout Pushcart Derby will be held on Saturday on Springdale Street “Hill” in West Garden Grove between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

ENTERTAINMENT:The big movies coming out this weekend will be:
- “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.” Only this time, he’s on our side. Rated PG-13.
