
A GARDEN GROVE man was shot in the chest in an attempted armed robbery late Wednesday night (Shutterstock).
Police are searching for two suspects involved in the shooting of a man late Wednesday night in Garden Grove.
According to Sgt. Nick Jensen of the GGPD, the incident took place around 10:48 p.m. in the area of McMains Street and Enloe Way. The victim was a 50-year-old Garden Grove resident.
Responding to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, officers found a man lying in the grass suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. The suspect had fled the scene southbound in a vehicle described as a dark-colored “box-style” vehicle similar to a Toyota Scion.
The victim told police that he had been confronted by a suspect who brandished a gun and demanded property. He was shot after refusing to comply. After receiving first aid from police, he was taken to a local hospital with what were described as “non-life threatening injuries.”
The two suspects being sought are:
- a male Hispanic, about 5-foot, 10-inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a blue button-up flannel shirt, pants, a hat and a bandana covering his face;
- the driver of the vehicle, no description.
