The second mass shooting in a little over a half-day made for one of the bloodiest stretches of gun violence in recent history. Nine people were killed and 16 wounded in Dayton, Ohio early Sunday morning.
That brought the death count to 29 people killed and 42 hurt when combined with the shootings that took place in El Paso earlier in the say.
According to authorities, the suspect – not yet identified – was shot and killed by police. He has only been described as a man wearing body armor and carrying “a long gun.” The shootings took place around 1 a.m. local time.
