Friday was a busy day locally for the Orange County Fire Authority, which took over fire and emergency medical services for Garden Grove last week.
In Garden Grove, a natural gas leak was reported at the Brookdale Senior Apartments, 10200 Chapman Ave. Firefighters from OCFA and Anaheim Fire and Rescue “stabilized the scene” and the residents stayed in their rooms.
Garden Grove police assisted in handling the situation and SoCal Gas repaired the line. There were no injuries and the cause of the leak is under investigation.
At 10:16 p.m., a second alarm fire was reported at the Cinnamon Creek apartments, 15123 Brookhurst St, in Westminster. Units from Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach and the OCFA were able to control the fire within 15 minutes. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
OCFA also provides fire and paramedic services to Westminster.
