The Argonauts win third straight, 19-0

GARDEN GROVE High’s football team posted a 19-0 win over Los Amigos Thursday night for its third consecutive victory (Shutterstock).

Garden Grove High School’s football team recorded its third straight win Friday night, defeating district rival Los Amigos 19-0 and posting its second consecutive shutout.

The Argonauts are now 3-2 while Los Amigos goes to 2-3. Those schools are part of the Garden Grove Unified School District and competed in the Garden Grove League since 1970 until GGHS was moved out into the new Big 4 League last year.

Grove will next face Western (4-1) at Handel Stadium in another pre-league contest on Thursday, Oct. 3. Los Amigos will open GGL play that same night against Santiago.

Pacifica’s 55-0 win over Crean Lutheran not only squared the Mariners’ record at 3-3, but also gave the M’s an opening win in Empire League action. PHS has next week off and will be in action again on Oct. 11 against Kennedy High.
