Orange High School’s football team crushed Calvary Chapel/Santa Ana 53-7 Thursday night to stay atop the Orange Coast League standings.
The Panthers are now 8-1 overall and 4-0 in league. The win sets up a likely title game against Santa Ana (5-3, 2-0) next week at Chapman University. The Saints will play Estancia (2-6, 1-2) on Friday at Estancia High School.
An interception stopped a late Pacifica drive and led to a 35-34 win by Valencia’s Tigers Thursday night. The loss put the Mariners record to 5-4 overall and 3-1 in the Empire League.
Garden Grove snapped a three-game losing streak and defeated Westminster 22-0 at Boswell Field. The Argonauts improved their overall record to 4-5 and 1-1 in Big 4 play. The Lions fell to 1-7 and 0-2.
