UPDATE: Garden Grove High’s girls’ volleyball team advanced to the CIF-SS Division 7 finals after defeating the Webb Schools 3-2 on Saturday. The Argonauts will take on Desert Christian for the title on Nov. 9 at a location to be determined.

Garden Grove High’s girls volleyball team will face a team from the Webb Schools on Saturday in the CIF-SS Division 7 semifinals.
The Argonauts advanced to the round of four with a 3-2 quarterfinal win over district rival Bolsa Grande on Wednesday. Grove won the first game 25-18, and then the two teams traded wins to knot it up at 2-2. The Argos finally won the decider, 16-14. Webb made it to the semifinals with a 3-0 sweep of La Quinta.
Garden Grove (27-8) will host the clash against Webb (27-6).
In another match of local interest, Loara was knocked out by Sacred Heart by the score of 3-1.
The winner of the Grove-Webb semifinal will face the winner of Sacred Heart–Desert Christian Academy in the final on Nov. 9 at a location to be determined.
