Loara’s win may mean a three-way tie

Loara threw the Garden Grove League football title picture into a likely three-way knot on Thursday night when it defeated Santiago 37-0 at Glover Stadium in Anaheim.

The Cavaliers fell to 4-1 in league play (6-4 overall) and Loara went to 4-1 (8-2 overall). If Rancho Alamitos (3-1, 6-3) defeats Bolsa Grande (0-4, 1-8), as expected, the league crown will be worn by three teams.

Pacifica lost its hope of a co-championship with Cypress when the Mariners lost 42-14 to the Centurions. The M’s will finish the regular season 3-2 in league and 5-5 overall.

Edison finished its Sunset League campaign in second place after a 57-7 victory over Newport Harbor. The Chargers were led by their QB tandem of Braeden Boyles, who passed for 156 yards and three touchdowns and Jacob Hanlon, who threw for 84 yards and one score. Hanlon also rushed for 70 yards and Boyles had 48 on the ground.
The green-and-gold completed the regular season with a 4-1 league record and 7-3 overall.

Marina grabbed undisputed possession of its first league football title in decades as it defeated Garden Grove 28-6. The Vikings will go into the playoffs 3-0 in the Big 4 League and 8-2 overall. The Argonauts finish 1-2 in league and 4-6 overall.
