Upset pushes GWL boys’ race into a tie

HIGH SCHOOL basketball results from Tuesday night for area schools.

An upset win over Ocean View High School’s boys’ basketball team by Godinez Fundamental Tuesday night threw the Golden West League race back into a tie. Godinez defeated the Seahawks 54-48 while Garden Grove bested Segerstrom 44-38. That knots up the lead between OVHS and GGHS with 4-1 records.

In the Garden Grove League boys’ campaign, Los Amigos opened up a two game lead with a 57-47 win over second place Bolsa Grande with a 57-47 victory over the Matadors. The Lobos are now 5-0 in league with Bolsa and Rancho Alamitos each at 3-2.

On the girls’ side Tuesday night, Garden Grove High took over sole possession of first place in the GWL with a 40-37 win over Segerstrom. The Argos are 5-0 and the Jaguars are 4-1 now.
