Edison High’s boys’ basketball team edged Corona del Mar 73-71 Wednesday night to remain in a tie for first place in the Surf League and set up a showdown with co-leader Newport Harbor on Friday.

The Chargers (15-9 overall and 2-0 in league) will visit the Sailors (20-4, 2-0). Newport won its game Wednesday, edging Los Alamitos 56-55.

Against Corona del Mar, the green-and-gold got 23 points from Trey Wilborn, along with 17 from Bradley Luna and 12 from Luke Serven.
