At least 10 persons – and perhaps as many as 12 – will be on the ballot as “replacement candidates” to run for Westminster mayor or city council members if the current office-holders are turned out of office in the April 7 recall election.

As of 5 p.m. today (Thursday), those who have qualified are the following, according to the city clerk’s office.

For mayor (now held by Tri Ta):

  • Phat Vu, Christopher Ochoa and Tai Do.

For the council seat now held by Kimberly Ho:

  • Samantha Bao Anh Nguyen, Carlos Manzo, Khai Dao, Tam Do and Frank Tran.

For the council seat now held by Chi Charlie Nguyen:

  • Jamison Power, Cu Tran.

Two persons who took out nomination papers but who had not yet been qualified by the city clerk’s office as of 5 p.m. are Jimmy Pham (running for mayor) and Mark Lawrence (running for Ho’s spot), but they could make the final list to be posted on Friday morning on the city’s website at www.westminster-ca.gov.
