FOURTEEN local high school basketball teams have advanced to the CIF-SS playoffs starting this week (Shutterstock).

A total of 14 local high school basketball teams will advance to the CIF-SS basketball playoffs starting this week, with most games set for Wednesday and Thursday.

Orangewood Academy of Garden Grove is the only area team seeded. The Spartans (20-3) are the top-rated team in Girls’ Division 2AA.

Here are the first round matchups as announced on Sunday.

BOYS

Division 2AA. Edison at Fairmont Prep.

Division 3AA: Ocean View at Laguna Beach.

Division 3A: Valley Christian at Garden Grove, Westminster at Fountain Valley.

Division 4AA: Jurupa Valley at Santiago.

Division 5A: Winner of Wild Card B (Hawthorne MSA at Calvary Chapel/Santa Ana) at Los Amigos.

GIRLS

Division 1: Aliso Niguel at Huntington Beach.

Division 2AA: Orangewood has a bye.

Division 3A: Long Beach Wilson at Marina, Torrance at Garden Grove.

Division 4AA: Citrus Valley at Santiago, La Quinta at Holy Martyrs, Rancho Alamitos at Pasadena Poly.

Division 5A: Mesorobian at Magnolia.

First round boys’ games are scheduled for Wednesday, with girls’ contests for Thursday. All games are planned for a 7 p.m. tipoff. Wild card games are to be played on Tuesday.

Soccer and girls’ water polo pairings will be posted on Monday.
