
A BICYCLIST was in critical but stable condition after a collision with an automobile late Monday evening in Garden Grove. The car driver was arrested (Shutterstock).
A bicyclist is in critical condition and another man is in jail after a late night bike-vs.-car accident in Garden Grove Monday night.
According to Sgt. Erick Leyva of the GGPD, the incident took place on Euclid Street north of Orangewood Avenue at 11 p.m.
Units from the GGPD and Anaheim Fire and Rescue responding to a report of an accident found a bicyclist who had been injured. The auto involved was gone from the scene. The cyclist was taken to UCI Medical Center in Irvine, where he was in critical but stable condition.
Several minutes later, a Garden Grove police officer located the motor vehicle and the driver. The motorist showed signs of impairment, according to police, and was arrested. He was identified as Victor Medina, 26, of Garden Grove.
The cause of the accident is under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact the GGPD’s Traffic Investigator Paul Ashby at (714) 741-5823.
