First OC coronavirus death reported

THE COUNTY’S first fatality from coronavirus was reported on Tuesday afternoon (Flickr).

UPDATE: The first fatality from the coronavirus in Orange County has occurred. The Orange County Health Care Agency reported Tuesday afternoon that the decedent was a 70-year-old man with “underlying health conditions.” The total number of cases confirmed in the county remains at 152. Further details about the death are not available.


Parks amenities closed in Westminster

The City of Westminster is joining other municipalities in Orange County and Southern California in closing park amenities until further notice.

The list includes:

  • playgrounds
  • fitness equipment
  • skate park
  • drinking fountains
  • picnic shelters
  • sports courts
  • ball fields
  • restrooms.

Those who do use the open space of parks are advised to practice social distancing by staying at least six feet away from those who are not part of your household.

OC coronavirus case count up to 152

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Orange County has risen to 152 by Tuesday (today), according to the county’s Health Care Agency. That’s up from 125 on Monday.

There have been no fatalities and no cases among those under 18 years of age.
