Coronavirus cases drop on Easter

NEW CASES of coronavirus cases was 57 on Sunday (Flickr).

After a big leap on Saturday, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Orange County took a steep dive on Sunday. According to the county health care agency, number of new cases was 57 on Easter Day, compared to 85 the day before.

Saturday’s figure was 25 more than Friday’s 60.

The cumulative county total is now at 1,277, with 19 deaths, which includes one reported today.

A total of 107 cases of coronavirus are in hospitals with 52 people in intensive care units.

Anaheim continues to lead the count in confirmed cases with 146, followed by Santa Ana with 111, Irvine with 97 and Huntington Beach with 87.

For cities in The Tribune’s coverage area, after Huntington Beach is Garden Grove with 38 cases, Westminster with 20 and Stanton with five.
