Confirmed cases of the coronavirus have risen for the second consecutive day, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.
Seventy-eight cases were reported by the OCHA in its Thursday count, compared to 67 on Wednesday and 29 on Tuesday. The cumulative number of cases to date is at 1,827.
Changes in the number of cases may not necessarily reflect the spread of COVID-19: they may be a reflection of the number of persons tested.
Two new deaths were recorded, bringing the county total to 36. The latest count of cases now hospitalized is 158, including 59 people in intensive care units.
Anaheim again leads all Orange County cities for most cases with 239, followed by Santa Ana with 202, Huntington Beach with 162, Irvine with 119 and Newport Beach with 90.
In The Tribune’s coverage area, after Huntington Beach is Garden Grove with 73 cases, followed by Westminster with 29 and Stanton with 16.
