Residents and others a bit tired of being cooped up with coronavirus “stay at home” orders had their day brightened on Sunday with the West Garden Grove COVID Classic, a kind of rolling car show.

Over 120 cars and trucks participated in the event and thousands of people gathered outside their homes, waving and cheering. Spectators watched from their front lawns, maintaining social distancing.

The procession – which took about three hours to complete – moved along nearly every street in West Grove. It began and ended at the closed Coco’s Restaurant at Valley View Street and Cerulean Avenue.

Coordinator of the event was Wyatt Hill, a local real estate agent.
