The recount of the Westminster recall election of April 7 is showing – so far – the same exact results as the original tally.
According to the Orange County Registrar of Voters, in Precinct 39201, for each of the choices as to whether to remove from office Mayor Tri Ta and council members Kimberly Ho and Chi Charlie Nguyen, the initial count of votes matches the recount.
For example, in that precinct, the original count on recalling Ta was 257 in favor of recall with 546 opposed. The hand tally also shows the same 257-546 split.
Today (Friday) the “review of relevant material [is] underway” and no physical recount of ballots will take place.
