COVID-19 cases in OC decline

NEW CORONAVIRUS cases reported on Monday in Orange County show a decline from the two previous days, but five deaths were recorded as well (Shutterstock).

New confirmed cases of coronavirus in Orange County are down in Monday’s report from the health care agency, but deaths are up.

The OCHCA reported 89 news cases, a drop from the tally of 107 in Sunday’s tally and 99 on Saturday.

However, five new deaths were reported on Monday.

The total cumulative deaths as reported are now 2,819, with total deaths at 57.

Cases now hospitalized are at 169, with 52 in intensive care units. Two hundred and thirty-seven new tests are reported on Monday, bringing the total tested to 37,050.

On a city-by-city basis, Anaheim is back as the city in Orange County with the most cases, with 420. Following is Santa Ana (405), then Huntington Beach (230), Irvine (137) and Garden Grove (135).

Local cities Westminster and Stanton have 47 and 28 cases, respectively.
