OC coronavirus cases drop to 55

After a stretch of rising numbers of new confirmed coronavirus cases, the Orange County Health Care Agency on Monday reported a steep drop to 55 cases.

There had been five straight days in which the sums were near or above 100 cases leading up to Sunday. The cumulative number is now at 3,557.

No deaths were reported Monday leaving that total at 76. The HCA also reported there are now 196 cases of coronavrius hospitalized in the county, with 77 people in intensive care units.

On the testing front, 196 new tests were reported, with 52,982 total cases totaled on Monday.

Looking at the city-by-city stats, Santa Ana is again the city with the most cases at 546, followed by Anaheim (540), Huntington Beach (269), Garden Grove (181) and Irvine (141).

Locally, Westminster and Stanton have 60 and 38 cases respectively.
