The number of new confirmed coronavirus cases in Monday’s report by the Orange County Health Care Agency showed a sharp decline.
Fifty-nine cases were noted by the OCHCA, which compares to 155 the day before. The pattern recently has shown that Monday results (based in part on statistics from Sunday) tend to be lower than weekdays.
A tally of cumulative cases is now at 4,434. There were no deaths from COVID-19 reported on Monday.
One hundred ninety four persons were hospitalized, with 78 cases in intensive care units. The OCHCA also reported that there have been 80,533 tests total in Orange County, with 166 in the last count.
On a city-by-city basis, Santa Ana remains the leader with 744 cases, followed by Anaheim with 701, Huntington Beach with 291, Garden Grove with 224 and Orange with 212. Local cities Westminster and Stanton show their totals at and 46, respectively.
Counts for Santa Ana and Orange include those for inmates held in county jails in those cities.
