14 coronavirus deaths are reported

ORANGE COUNTY’s daily count of coronavirus cases included 14 deaths (Pexels).

The number of confirmed new coronavirus cases in Orange County in Thursday’s report declined sharply from Wednesday’s all-time high.

Today’s count from the Orange County Health Care Agency showed a total of 115 cases, compared to the previous day’s tally of 249. The cumulative cases so far are at 4,841.

However, a high of 14 deaths were also reported by the OCHCA, bringing the to-date total to 112 fatalities.  Of those deaths, 40 were of residents of senior living facilities.

The agency reported a tally of 1,311 more COVID-10 tests, bringing the total of 90,130 countywide.

Two hundred forty-seven people are hospitalized in the OC, with eighty-nine of those in intensive care units.

Santa Ana remains the city with the most confirmed coronavirus cases with 858, followed by Anaheim with 758. Next are Huntington Beach (307), Garden Grove (246) and Orange (226).

The totals for Santa Ana and Orange include cases of people in county jails located within those cities.

Local cities Westminster and Stanton have 85 and 51 cases, respectively.
