The tally of new coronavirus cases hit a record high of 304 in Sunday’s count by the Orange County Health Care Agency. The previous high was 290 on June 5.
Sunday’s numbers bring the to-date totals to 8,573. Health officials estimate that 4,091 have recovered.
Four deaths were reported, raising that total to 221. Of that, 102 were from skilled nursing facilities.
Two hundred ninety people are currently hospitalized, with 144 in intensive care.
Santa Ana remains the leader with 1830 cases, an increase of 56. Following are Anaheim with 1595 (up 40), Garden Grove with 488 (up 24), Huntington Beach with 427 (up 10) and Orange with 376 (up six).
Westminster has 190 (up six) and Stanton has 99 (up three).
