New 1-day high of corona cases

A new high in confirmed coronavirus cases has been reported by the Orange County Health Care Agency, a steep rise from the previous day’s tally.

The OCHCA reported Saturday 413 new cases, compared to the previous high of 297 on June 14. That’s a one-day jump of 216.

That brings the too-date count to 9,988, including 1,047 in skilled nursing facilities and 389 in county jails.

Ten deaths were reported, bringing the total to 267.

Three-hundred twenty-one people suffering from COVID-10 are hospitalized, with 135 in intensive care units.

The city count shows Santa Ana with 2115 cases, up 60 from Friday. Following are Anaheim with 1,924 (up 85), Garden Grove with 574 (up 28), Huntington Beach with 474  (up 11) and Orange with 441 (up 24).

Westminster has 213 (up eight) and Stanton is at 127 (up six).
