A RAID on an illegal marijuana dispensary in Santa Ana uncovered a large, sophisticated operation (SAPD photo).

A large illegal marijuana dispensary was raided by Santa Ana police on Saturday.

According to the SAPD, vice detectives, patrol officers and members of the city code enforcement department served a search warrant on a location at 1305 East Wakeham Ave. That’s in an industrial area north of McFadden Avenue, west of Grand Avenue.

Upon entry they discovered the unlicensed operation in what police say was “in its infancy stages and being built to be a large scale sophisticated facility.”

Stacks and stacks of the product were in one room, with an indoor cultivation facility with dozens of plants growing in another.
