Fire strikes condominium complex

A two-alarm fire in a condominium complex in Huntington Beach blazed from the late morning into the early afternoon on Thursday.

According to the Huntington Beach Fire Department, the fire was first reported at 11:47 a.m. at 18674 Applewood Circle. That’s south of Ellis Avenue, between Beach Boulevard and Newland Street.

Six pieces of equipment were dispatched, and a second alarm brought in more resources. By 1:30 p.m. the fire was considered “knocked down” and firefighters were checking for extension of the flames into other units or buildings. The incident was concluded an hour later.

As of this writing, the cause of the fire and the value of the loss are unknown. No injuries to fire personnel or civilians were reported.
