Cyclist is fatally hit by auto

A BICYCLIST died after a collision with an auto early Tuesday morning Huntington Beach (Shutterstock).

A bicyclist suffered fatal injuries early Tuesday morning in Huntington Beach after he was struck by a motor vehicle.

According to the HBPD, the accident took place around 12:25 a.m. in the area of Beach Boulevard and Sunrise Drive. That’s south of Atlanta Avenue and north of Pacific Coast Highway.

Arriving officers found that the vehicle had left the scene, and located the victim – identified only as a male cyclist – in the roadway. Paramedics pronounced the cyclist dead.

The involved vehicle was found and the driver contacted. He was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.
