AN UPDATE on candidates running for local offices in the communities of Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Stanton and Westminster (Shutterstock).

With a little over a week to go, the nomination period for local city and school district offices continues. Aug. 7 is the deadline to submit completed petitions to run as candidates in the Nov. 3 general election. Incumbents are marked with an asterisk.

Here’s the local candidate lineup through mid-day Thursday.
