Checkpoints for drivers’ licenses and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be held on two dates and two different locations in Huntington Beach next week.
According to the Huntington Beach Police Department the checkpoints will be held at two locations within city limits on Aug. 14-15 between 6 p.m. and 3 a.m.
The locations are chosen based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests. Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment, as well as checking drivers for proper licensing.

Suspect is sought in sex assaults
Police in Orange are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who reportedly sought to sexually assault three women in the area of the Santiago Creek Trail.
According to the Orange Police Department, the first attack took place on July 25, the second on Aug. 2 around 6:15 p.m. and the third 15 minutes later.
In each case the suspect grabbed the women, who were able to break free. He fled on a bicycle. He’s described as a man in his 40s, speaking English and Spanish.
