
A WOMAN was killed Friday in Santa Ana when she was struck by an auto while walking on 1st Street (Shutterstock).
A woman crossing a street in Santa Ana was fatally struck by an automobile Friday morning.
According to the SAPD, the incident took place around 11:19 a.m. at 2200 West 1st Street. Arriving officers found a woman lying in the roadway, having suffered major injuries.
Orange County Fire Authority personnel responded and treated her before she was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The preliminary investigation indicated the woman was walking across 1st Street east of Center Street when she was hit by a vehicle headed west on 1st. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Alcohol is not believed to play a role in the incident and the investigation is continuing.
