Fatal hit-and-run in Fullerton

A PEDESTRIAN was killed in a hit-and-run accident early Wednesday morning in Fullerton (Shutterstock).

A pedestrian in Fullerton was killed early Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run accident.

According to the FPD, the incident took place at about 5:40 a.m. in the 3000 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue. Arriving police officers found a man lying in the middle of Orangethorpe. Having suffered traumatic injuries, he was pronounced dead on the scene by the Fullerton Fire Department.

Police believe that the pedestrian had been standing in the middle of the roadway on Orangethorpe, east of Auto Center Drive, before the collision. Witnesses told police they heard a noise and found the man on the roadway. The suspect vehicle fled the scene and witnesses were unable to provide a description.

The Orange County Coroner’s office described the decedent as a 33-year-old male.
