Several ordinances advancing development of a 321-unit multi-family apartment community were approved Tuesday night by the Stanton City Council.
The council voted 5-0 in favor of the project, which would be built at 12331-12435 Beach Blvd. and would include a 545-space multi-level parking structure. The council also voted to increase the density range to 90 units per acre in the South Gateway Mixed Use zone.
Also, the council approved a partnership agreement with the County of Orange and Jamboree Housing to join in acquiring the Tahiti Motel and Stanton Inn properties for use as permanent supportive housing for the unsheltered.
The idea of creating a dog park and/or walking trail on Orange County Transportation Authority property near Cerritos Avenue and Western Avenue received council support and city staff were directed to conduct research and return with a report on available options.
