THE BODY of a man was found in a parking lot in Stanton Thursday night (Shutterstock).

A fight that led to a man’s death took place in the parking lot of a shopping area in Stanton Thursday night.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department – which provides police services for Stanton – deputies were called to a location at 12522 Beach Blvd., just south of Lampson Avenue – at about 8:15 p.m. with regards to a “man down.”

Arriving deputies found the body of a man on the curb of a fast food restaurant.

The man had apparently been in a fight with another man, witnesses told police. The second man left the scene but was located at an area hospital where he was being treated for a stab wound. Investigators believe he is the man involved in the fight that took the other man’s life.

An investigation is continuing; the name of the deceased has not yet been released.
