Van vs. wall means fatal crash

A 67-YEAR_OLD Huntington Beach man is dead after his van crashed into a wall Thursday morning.(Shutterstock).

A 67-year-old Huntington Beach man died early Thursday morning after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a wall.

According Motor Sgt. Matthew Austin of the HBPD, the incident took place around 2:13 a.m. as officers responded to a report of a collision at the intersection of Garfield Avenue and Lister Lane.

Officers found a white 1998 Dodge van against a wall on the south side of Garfield. Police believe the driver was traveling southbound on Lister and continued to drive across Garfield’s lanes and into the wall.

The driver was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death is unknown. The investigation is continuing and anyone who may have information about the collision is asked to call (714) 536-5231.
