A fifth day of COVID declines

HAND-WASHING, mask-wearing and social distancing are weapons against the spread of coronavirus, say health officials (Pexels/Cottonbro).

New cases of coronavirus declined for the fifth consecutive day, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency in its Thursday report.

Today’s tally of new COVID-19 infections is at 229, down from 233 on Wednesday, and deaths fell from 13 to one.

Hospitalizations from the coronavirus rose from 177 to 181, while those in intensive care units declined from 60 to 59.

Here is a list of the Orange County cities with the most cases. Deaths are in parentheses.

  • Santa Ana: 11,471 (315)
  • Anaheim: 10,154 (315)
  • Garden Grove: 3,259 (105)
  • Orange: 2,759 (71)
  • Huntington Beach: 2,600 (86).

Westminster has 1,156 cases and 31 deaths. Stanton has 726 cases and 17 deaths.
