New cases at 271, deaths at 3

THE NUMBER of new reported COVID-19 cases is at to 271 in Thursday’s report for the OC (Shutterstock).

Thursday’s report of new coronavirus cases in Orange County showed 271 infections, according to the county health care agency.

Additionally, there were three deaths connected to COVID-19. To date, there have been 61,122 cases in the OC (of which 54,429 are considered recovered). There have been 1,491 deaths.

Hospitalizations related to coronavirus are at 178, with 76 cases in intensive care units.

Here is the list of the Orange County cities with the most cases. Deaths are in parentheses.

  • Santa Ana: 11,770 (317)
  • Anaheim: 10,435 (323)
  • Garden Grove: 3,360 (110)
  • Orange: 2,823 (71)
  • Huntington Beach: 2,686 (86).

Westminster has 1,203 cases and 31 deaths. Stanton has 734 cases and 17 deaths.

  1. Now that the testing kits are available, are the new cases due to more testing? Will OC Authorities close off Anaheim and Santa Ana?
